Question About Nodes


I am a noob at this. When a miner get an accepted share and got a Node in the network (from normal node to shard backup or backup node), I assume it will get a reward. The second time the miner get an accepted share (next 00 block), is this trying to get the node into becoming a DS Node?

Secondly, if my node is already a shard backup or backup node, why do I need to mine to that node again? Wouldn’t the 2/3 rewards keep giving the node free rewards for getting into the network the first time?


Every 100th block, shard nodes gets kicked out of the network. Therefore, they have to re-perform PoW in order to join the network again.


So the node can serve the network (and get the reward) only if there are some amount of PoW is performing on it? What hashrate will be enough for the node to be more or less efficient serving the network?
